Sunday was market day here in Paris!
As with each day here in Paris, the adventure begins in the metro station!
This is a typical scene. Cassandra and Josh are trying to figure out where we're going, and I'm just taking pictures.
Pretty apartments!
Poulpe! That's octopus in french. And yes, that's an eyeball. Not too appetizing! (Tsukasa, this is for you!)
This, on the other hand, was delicious! Cheese omelette and salad! Mmmmm! Maybe my favorite meal so far...
Just look at this beautiful shop!
Very old piano! So cool!
These canopy-type shops were everywhere! Apparently there were over 2500 vendors at this market!
Tables and tables of beautiful things!
Hats, hats, hats, galore!
I love this. Aunt Cathy, this reminds me of your basement. :)
Too much fun!
I'm not loving the city too much, but I'd go back to the market in a heartbeat! It's probably good I didn't spend too much time there, or I'd be returning with way too many random souvenirs. I love how all the antiques have stories of their own. Some of the antique postcards even had addressed letters. Wish I could take the time to read them. Ever wonder about all those old faces in photographs? I wish they could talk, too. Oh, I could spend hours and hours getting to know their personalities!
Enjoying all your pictures, Jess. (Well, maybe not the one of the octopus!) Thanks for sharing your perspective on the sights and sounds of Paris. Can't wait to hear all about your adventures in person.
ReplyDeleteLove you, Mom
P.S. Really looking forward to Normandy photos!
Jessie! I miss you so much! I'm glad you're having such a good time in Europe... you'll have to tell me all about it when you get back :)
