I've always envisioned traveling abroad and taking in the tastes of a land as well as the sights and sounds.
While living gluten-free narrows down my choices while traveling, I have found some restaurants that are CGF. If I go out to a "normal" restaurant, I'll do my best to make safe choices (steamed veggies, meat, no extra sauces, etc.) Eating out every day will most certainly not fit the budget. In order to eat safely and save money, I've packed some of my favorite snacks.
This is from my carry-on. Packed in my suitcase, I have a bar and some sort of fruit set aside for each day.
That's a lot of granola bars, people!
Also...
PB and tortillas!
That's two pounds of food right there. The jelly added a third and so got the boot. It was either that or two favorite dresses! Besides, I'm sure the jams there will be delicious! I plan on taking a PBJ tortilla for lunch each day.
Lastly, my mom made this homemade granola. I've already snacked on some, because it's sooo delicious.
As usual, she adapted the recipe to our tastes and cupboard supplies.
Fresh out of the oven!
While I anticipate posting pictures of my traveling and musical journeys, I also hope to post about eating GF.
You make gluten free living so stylish! I am excited for your trip :)
ReplyDeleteYou're so wise and practical! You may not want to be near peanut butter after this trip.
ReplyDeletePraying for you! Bon voyage!
