You Know You're a Dog-Owner When...

Ty and I had fun coming up with these. We freely make fun of ourselves now. (And truthfully, I am way more ridiculous than Ty, so don't project all of the following onto him just yet!)

We love having a dog, even more than we anticipated!

Here are some of our favorites! Enjoy!

You know you're a dog-owner when...

...you clean your glasses with the dog's stuffed animals.

...your first instinct is to tell human children to sit.

...your first question about a restaurant is (no, not about the food served) whether or not there is outdoor seating.

...you feel compelled to walk down the pet aisle in every store.

...you forget to ask permission to bring your dog along. (The family was invited, right?)

...you take your dog on road trips.

...you miss your dog on grocery shopping trips (thus, the reason the dog goes on road trips).

...your ears perk up at the mention of a walk.

...you carry a brag book with pictures of your dog (or the iPod photo album equivalent).

...you can't imagine a family photograph without your dog.

...you know all the dogs in the neighborhood, including their breed and disposition.

...you schedule puppy play dates with your dog-owning friends.

...you have an Instagram account dedicated to your dog's life.

...you spend your free-time Yelping everything "dog-friendly" in your area.

...you make kiss-y noises to get your spouse's attention.

...you sign up for a Hulu trial just to watch The Dog Whisperer.

Stay tuned! We've only been dog-owners for 4 1/2 weeks. It's bound to get crazier!

  2. . . . you check your daughter-in-law's blog to see if there are any new photos of the dog.

What does that make me? =D
