We are proud soon-to-be dog owners (parents?) of this Little One!

Our sweet puppy!!

She is a silver-blue purebred Weimaraner! She is 4 1/2 weeks in these photos, and we will bring her home at 8 weeks. That means she's fully ours by Valentine's Day! This girl is beyond excited! 

I am thrilled to be delving headfirst into the realm of large dogs. I am up to my ears in books on Weimys, training, food diets, etc. Owning a dog with which I can run and enjoy the outdoors has always been a dream of mine.

The colors appear much darker in the above photos. Her coat is actually more like the first photo.

"I love you!!"

Look how tiny! Full-grown, she will be sixty to seventy pounds - give or take - and between 24-26 inches tall (at the shoulder).

Her eyes are bright blue right now! They will change as she ages, probably closer to an amber. Little One starts puppy training homeschool (with the aid of a professional trainer) the week she comes home.

"Gosh! Brothers!"

 Little One does not have an official name yet, but I miss her already! 3 1/2 more weeks feels like a long time to wait. I'm so glad I have my Laos trip coming up, because otherwise I would be obsessing over "puppy space" in the house and spending way too much money at pet stores.

This blog may very quickly transform itself into a documentation of puppy training, a photo journal, and all-around update on life with a Weimaraner. Just be prepared for that.
