Our Sixteen-Week Pup!

Brooklyn had her sixteen-week vet appointment yesterday. She is now fully vaccinated and at the end of her socialization period. To top off the latter, we thought we'd take her on a seventeen-hour road trip. That happens tomorrow. The good news is that she is now dog-park-ready! I have located many along our route.

Did I mention she's thirty-one pounds and growing by the minute? Every morning when I take her out of her crate, I swear she looks an inch taller. We are honestly concerned she may outgrow the backseat of our little civic before we turn around to make the drive home.

Of course, she needed a few things "for the road."

Here's her new Wubba. Poor foxy Wubba isn't really suitable to take into other people's homes anymore. She hasn't fallen in love with this canvas one quite as quickly, but I think she'll come around.

Brooklyn also finished her home training course this week. In addition to building on her other skills, she has begun learning figure-eight walking and "place." Now it's up to us to stay consistent. She is enrolled in a group class in May, and that will reinforce everything she's learned, but in a high-distraction environment.

For your viewing pleasure!
(Time to go pack!)
