Oldies!

The other night, my dad pulled out our old slide projector. I never knew we had so many slides!
We looked at some of my dad's Navy adventures, some of my parents' college years, their Europe escapades, and some family shots.
That was my idea of a perfect evening. I loved seeing those moments and hearing my mom and dad laugh about this or that. I hope my kids love looking at photos, too, because I will certainly have many albums through which they can peruse.

I took a few photos of the projected images, though one day I hope to convert them for posterity's sake.

Just thought I'd share a few! Sorry for the blur.

Help me out, Dad! Where was this again?

Mombasa, right?
And yes, that's my dad pulling off that sweet outfit.

Mom in Italy

My mom with my dad's parents. Everyone is stylin'!

My mom with her mom - love the look of life in my Grams' eyes. It's hard to remember seeing her that way, because she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's when I was six.

They're soooo young! :) They will have been married thirty-four years on the twenty-fifth!

Outside my parents' apartment in Baltimore. Apparently they'd misplaced the car...

Can you say GORGEOUS?! My mom is beautiful!

Traveling with another Navy wife and good friend, Cookie. We just saw Cookie and her husband in April!

It is exceedingly important to document our lives. What fun stories live on through photos! I think I'm going to go order more prints from Walgreens. I'm a regular by now...

  1. This picture was taken on the pier in Djibouti on the Red Sea. During the Iran Hostage Crisis in '79-'80 there very few places for US Navy ships to get fuel. We stopped in Djibouti four times.

  4. I didn't forget Djibouti! (I even had a shirt with the country's name on it.) Dad's been so many places that I couldn't remember where he happened to be this time around!
