A Page Turned

Today I left Tali Rose in Moscow. The West ladies dropped me off at the airport at 5:45 am - the airport that was roughly half the size of a football field. (Gives you an idea of how big the plane was, too.) Although my baggage was definitely over the carry-on limit, a nice young man behind the check-in counter allowed me to carry all my luggage and saved me $20. I probably looked very fragile. Additionally, God sent me a sweet elderly lady as my seat neighbor; she both cheered me up and distracted me from the flight with her stories of wheat farming and photographic tours through the Grand Canyon.

As soon as I landed, I was picked up by my parents and swept into the whirlwind! We took the ferry to Bremerton and visited Uncle Greg (my dad's brother) and Aunt Cathy. Mom and Julia visited their home about a year and half ago, but this was a first for both Daddy and me. Neither of us had seen my aunt since Granny's funeral in 1999. It was such a treat to spend the whole day with my aunt and uncle! We took a ferry to lunch and then relaxed at their house. More on their amazing house and hobbies later!

Let's just say that I took a ride on a small pontoon boat and tried my hand at kayaking - in their backyard!

As sad as I am to have left Tali Rose, I am at peace right now. Of course it helps that I'm partying it up with my family in Seattle. The timing of it all is truly perfect.

In the words of John Dillinger (or, at least Johnny Depp), "We're having too good a time today. We ain't thinking about tomorrow."
I'm soaking in today and living today, for tomorrow will be here soon enough.

But I am looking forward the the immediate tomorrow and visiting Mars Hill Church. (Woohoo!)
