Pictures Galore!

We got in from Nashville at 6 am this morning. We crazies (see, I told you!) decided to drive home through the night instead of extending our trip another day. I stayed awake driving thanks to Tali's rad mix, The Rocket Summer, and Mara, Daughter of the Nile.

Back to the grind today! I'm teaching this afternoon, and my students' recital is tomorrow evening. I sure hope they practiced this weekend! (Hint, hint!)

We took two bikes with us. I was a little nervous about transporting my bike, but it all worked just fine. (Except for the weather, but I'll get to that!)

May I help you?

Friday night we had dinner at Ty's very CLEAN apartment. :)

Happy, happy, happy!

Normal bestie picture.

Still fairly normal. (Don't you walk around with a model glare on your face?)

Classic Jessie and Tali shot.

Getting a little weirder.

Then the tape came out.

Well, aren't we mature? I realize this is some serious blackmail material, but you can't blackmail me if I publicly post it on my blog. :) Besides, this is really what we do for fun. ;)

Curly-heads.

Ready for Wal-Mart!

Wal-Mart shoppers are interesting...

Matching hawaiian shirts? No, thank you.

Outfitted in our tri-shorts and ready to ride!

Unfortunately, we got rained out on Saturday after only a few miles on the trail. Sunday we managed to beat the rain and get in a really great ride! Monday it was predicted to rain all day, so we didn't mess with it. It turned out to be sunny and beautiful!

We did a lot of sitting and chatting.

Monday Ty and I spent a lot of time outside. We went to a memorial park in downtown.

It was a huge timeline of TN through which you walked. My dad would have loved this!

Cute little boy walking around. :) These flowers were in a WWII memorial.

I love the photos on the stone. Wait. Are those...?

Nuns? Yes.

This explains a lot.

As does this.

Tyler and the nuns. :)

I like this.

Cool amphitheater!

SEC, baby! Is it football season yet??

I thought maybe we should drop Tali off here for a while.

Ty and I went to a bike store. These bikes were priced at $4,000 - used! Holy moly!

I like bikes.

The store was huge and had all sorts of outdoorsy stuff. Cool rocking chair!

We were conveniently by the only Chipotle in Nashville.

Later we met up with the ladies and walked on a nearby trail.

Favorite photo of the trip!

Rock-skipping lessons.

Early dinner before heading out.

Thank you, Tali, for taking my photo at 4 am.

We grabbed doughnuts on this same stop. But these were not the ones we ordered!

So we went back and got the ones we actually ordered. They were delicious and helped us stay awake.

The other ones weren't half bad, with milk, either. I had one for breakfast when I awoke from my own bed. We landed home about 6 am.

We all had a wonderful time! Why do weekends always fly by??
Oh, I'm sad we neglected taking pictures on Sunday! At church, I introduced Tali and my mom to Jeff and a very pregnant Mandie (she's due this week!). Sunday evening we went to see Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Too funny! Hooray for the dollar theatre!

It was sort of bittersweet, because this is most likely my last trip to Nashville to visit Tyler. I'm thrilled because that means it's not too much longer until he comes home, but I'll definitely miss these fun escapades and adventures in a new place.
