Yesterday was a crazy day. Crazy fun, that is. Since I uploaded this picture in the wrong order and it's way too difficult to move it all the way to the end, I'll start with the end of the day first.
Tyler and I went to Seasons 52 last night. Mmm. May I just say how much I truly enjoy dining there? I love how everything there is about the dining experience, not just the food. The food, however, could stand on its own. Tyler called his pork chops "heavenly," and my chicken was so tender! Mmm. I'm definitely looking forward to my leftovers today!
Our time together was fantastic. I'm soaking up every minute I have before he heads off to TN Friday! Oh, I'm going to miss him SO MUCH!
After dinner we had a great time of just hanging out with our families. That's one of my favorite things to do. :)
Okay, now rewind all the way to 9:30 am. As you may see, I was at Gabe and Sophie's. Monday was Sophie's birthday, so I decided we'd have a little birthday fun. First we watched some Magic School Bus. (I used to wake up at 7:30 every weekday morning to watch that show when I was little, and Sierra and I convinced our moms to use a few shows for our high school science classes, too. :)
As you may have guessed, Sophie loved Teppei. Gabe woke her up with Teppei, and Sophie immediately said, "Is that for me?" I made it clear from the beginning that he was only on loan.
When it was time to go to my house, Sophie grabbed her jacket. Yes, she wore this jacket in the 28658u209 degree weather. (Hmm, not sure what the "u" in there means, but I'll go with it.)
This was the result.
That's better. The adorable 3-year-old. Sheesh, that makes me feel old! Not to mention the fact that Maggie turns 4 next month! Remember Maggie Tuesdays? Back when she couldn't walk or talk? Back when she was teething and I had to put her pacis in the freezer? But I digress...
We finally arrived at my house. Our mission? Make frosting and decorate Sophie's birthday cupcakes.
My little chefs. :)

Okay, these next three make me laugh so much. Sophie's expressions are classic. By the way, did you notice how mature Gabe looks? He'll be six in October. Ahh!

I caught Sophie with two different cupcakes in her mouth (on two separate occasions)!
Then with the sprinkle spoon in her mouth.

Awwww. :) Notice the large vat of frosting? For some reason, I made five tons of the stuff. Pink frosted cupcakes, anyone?
The plan after cupcake decorating was to head over to Chick-fil-A for lunch. I said we'd have a little party for Soph after lunch and we could eat our cupcakes then, too. Since it was going to be a party, we dragged along Teppei, Maggie-moo, and my mom. Party!
Lunch was a little chaotic. Just a little. The Sprite and polynesian sauce couldn't seem to stay in their containers. Oh, and Maggie-moo gets the prize for messiest eater. I think her white shirt was orange by the end of lunch.
Mom rescued Teppei from the mess. Thanks, Mom!
Me: "So this is what it'd be like to have three kids under six, huh?"
Mom: *Insert wide eyes* "Pretty chaotic."
Actually it's three kids over three and under six. I loved every minute, even wiping up tables and washing hands!
After lunch, we had our promised party! There were three kids, three cupcakes, and three candles. Perfect!

This was before the frosting ended up in her hair. :) I love this girl, messes and all!
Yep, Sophie's all into this cupcake. She'd asked so many times earlier in the day, "Can I eat my cupcake now?"
On the way to the bathrooms to hose down the girls, I found a bulletin board with this on it. Ha ha! Yep, it's legit.
One of the really sweet workers noticed (how could she not have? :) our birthday party and brought over a balloon for each of the kiddos.
Gabe is such a sweet brother! I love him. I love all these little ones so much!
Unfortunately, we had two balloons pop on the way home (and some resulting tears), but it all worked out in the end. I'm so glad my mom was there with me. I really appreciated her help!

Thanks for a Tuesday to remember! Now it's Wednesday, and I'm baby sitting Maggie and her siblings. Who knows what adventures may result! Stay posted!
I love all the pictures with you and the kiddos, but my absolute favorite is the one of you and Ty. It actually brought tears to my eyes. Maybe it's just the hormones, but I don't think so. I'm glad you two got to have a nice dinner together. I already want to drive you up to Tennessee to visit him (and I just really love going to Tennessee :).
ReplyDeleteHere's to many, many more enjoyable dinners for you both!
Oh, and is that the dress from White House Black Market? It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for both of you! Long distance is tough...Mark and I did it as well (and we survived to talk about it ;-)). We did log a lot of miles on the car, though, and racked up the phone bills, and that was before cell phones! But seriously, you are in my thoughts and prayers because even though this is a good thing, it's still painful.

So. I'm really regretting my decision to stay home and bake rather than join the birthday party. However, it looks like ya'll managed to have a pretty fantastic time without me, so I'll just pretend I was there getting covered in sprinkles and sprite and polynesian sauce along with the rest of you. ;)
ReplyDeleteP.S. You and Tyler are beautiful. Congrats on a gorgeous dress.
Sounds like a great Tuesday! Oh, yes Seasons 52 is probably, so far, my all time favorite restaurant! They just have really great food.
