Jessie & Tali's Great Adventure

Much to my chagrin, this narrative will be significantly abbreviated. But not to worry! There are plenty of pictures. :)

One very lovely Saturday morning Tali picked me up and we set off on a great adventure. It began with a gift - for me! - of a beautiful photo album. Her reasoning was that I had plenty of junk, so she wanted to give me memories instead. We were to spend our day doing exciting things she had planned...all the while documenting them for my new album.

Our morning began at a nearby gas station. When embarking on an adventure, this is a significantly important part. (Not to mention that Tali has a pretty bad habit of running on fumes. To her defense, her gas gauge is slightly demented. Besides, she says she learned all her driving habits from me, and I have a bad track record of this, too.) But this time we were prepared, with a full tank of gas.

Our first stop was the Farmer's Market. Our mission: eat breakfast. Yum. Easy enough. We enjoyed some delicious bagels.
Next, we purchased some flowers of my choice. Are they so antique-looking? I love them!
We also ventured to some crazy stores nearby and tried on insane outfits (with Marilyn Monroe). The blur is a nice effect.
We took some time to rest, relax, and relish the gorgeous day.
Our next stop was the downtown area, where we had an interesting time trying to parallel park. I, for one, love parking meters and was excited to put coins in this one!
Tali especially connected with some of the art. ;)
We enjoyed lunch at a nearby (ha!) vegan restaurant and the many sights along the way.
This is definitely not vegan! And I didn't really enjoy the sight of it. Ack!
Our salads were particularly yummy. :)

Next, we drove to that magical land where dreams come true and rode the monorail around to the fancy hotels and overpriced gift shops.

As you can see, we made it a lot of fun. :D

Then the craziest thing happened: I spotted a group of ladies very obviously in the Red Hat Society. For those of you who don't know, they are a group of women 50 years+ who wear purple and red and have a lot of fun. They told us when you get older you don't really care what people think anymore. I can't wait to join!
Of course I asked them if we could get our picture with them, and of course they obliged. I told them about my personal hat collection (only one is red, and it is crazy!), and we chatted for a while. When it was time to part, one of them sweetly gave her hat to me! She took it right off her head and gave it to me! So now I have an adorable red, summer hat from a lady in the Red Hat Society. I was so excited! If you look in the picture, the woman standing directly behind me is the one who gave me the hat.

Our journey concluded at the Science Center. We had a few mishaps along the way (where is our road?!), but we made it back to Tali's for dinner and then set off again. Tali had planned to stargaze in the planetarium, but it was closed. :( So, instead, we took a few pictures in the parking garage to fill up our album.

I had the most perfect day with Tali Rose. Everything she did was so thoughtful and exciting, making it the best day for me! Everyone needs to have a friend like Tali Rose. She's priceless. :D I already get sad thinking about when she leaves for college. I know it's not for another year, but I also know it will come too soon. I teared-up the other day just thinking about it. :( But these are the wonderful memories that last forever! And there are plenty more to come in future days! Love you, Tali!

Off to study and practice. Up next: my trip to NC!
In other news, I declared a minor in English Literature and am super excited about it!

  3. A minor. You know how you MAJOR in something in college? Well, in addition, you can MINOR if you want. It's just kinda like a secondary thing.
