Do you hear that? That sweet sound? It's the sound of thirteen gluten-free cakes. Or maybe you can't hear them, since they're calling my name? I guess you could compare it to parseltongue...except for gluten-free cake. (I'm quite fluent.) My parents always told me I was special...
Chocolate cheesecake, cookie monster, strawberry, german chocolate, peanut butter...how is anyone supposed to make that kind of decision?! I'd like them all, thank you very much.
You might remember hearing about Company Cafe. I mentioned it in my anniversary post. It was love at first taste, really! I have been craving "The Sammich" ever since our brunch date last month. While I'm no foodie, and I've only been to a handful of new local restaurants and cafes, I can say without doubt that Company Cafe is my new favorite place to dine!

Sammich goodness! |
Company Cafe has four different menus! It was a bit overwhelming at first, but I'm getting the hang of it. Brunch is served daily until 4PM! Gluten-free granola, plain greek yogurt, honey, and berries? Yes, please!

Still not convinced? I stand by my statement and intend to defend it. Read on.
1. Hours
Company Cafe is open daily from 8AM-12AM. By 8AM, I've usually finished my run and need to take second breakfast. Regardless of your preferred dining hours, you can easily find some overlap here! Perfect for morning, afternoon, or late-night cravings!
2. Selection
As I mentioned, there are four menus: breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. They also have a full bar and wine menu (if that's your sort of thing) and dessert menu (that's my sort of thing). They have a great assortment of "comfort foods," Tex Mex, meats (grass-fed beef, fish, venison, etc.), and veggies! As long as your pallet isn't entirely destroyed by processed foods, you're bound to find too many tasty menu items that catch your eye. The hardest part is choosing!
3. GF-friendly!
Many restaurants claim to have gluten-free menus. Usually that means greens without croutons or dressing, or a plain chicken breast. Not so at CC! Most of the menu items are naturally gluten-free, and anything else can easily be made so! Don't worry, if you have a craving for wheat toast, they have that, too! But here, they take allergies seriously, and all the servers are knowledgeable about the allergy-free options. Rumor has it, the chicken-fried waffles are legendary.
4. Dog-friendly!
They have a dog-friendly patio, and the servers will gladly supply water for your tired pup! This is especially wonderful when you live in hot Texas.
5. Proximity
Did I mentioned we can walk to Company Cafe? While daily visits would not be the best for the budget or our health (thirteeeeeen cake flavors!!), an occasional "Cake Walk" date night is a must!

Get ready, Glenna! I'm always up for an excuse to try new menu items! Anyone else want to visit? I'd love a good reason to return again before long!
I wonder if they're open for Thanksgiving...
