Look Who's One!

Our not-so-tiny pup is one year old today! She is just over 60 lbs and a ball of energy. Since her life is so well documented (thank you, Instagram), I thought I'd share some pictures of the past ten months.

Get ready for an overload of cuteness. You may want to make sure you're in a location where it's socially acceptable to burst into fits of, "Aww!!" every five seconds.

I saw this face, and I was spellbound!
TAKE ME HOME, MAMA!

Being squished by brother

First time we met her - at four weeks old!
Dawwwwwwwwww - I warned you!

Ty was unable to go with me to pick her up at eight weeks (after the litter was FINALLY declared worm-free!), so my good friend, Sia, stepped in.

It's hard to walk with those long legs
She's about to fall forward, really.
First night home, and a little scared

Her ears are still this silky

I love how she's looking right at me! This is always a good sign in training

First day in the big world!

First trip to the dog park!

She loved this box...until she ate it
More dog park adventures (hiding under the benches...)

This is Brooklyn at 8-9 weeks, next to Tootsie, my parents' Miniature Dachshund. This picture astounds me! She was ever THAT tiny?!

Birthday lunch for me!

Using a small, small portion of her "bed"

Did I ever mention, Blogworld, that Ty and I took a road trip to TX? We took our two-door civic and tossed a whole lotta stuff and a four-month-old pup in the backseat. And we drove. To Dallas, to Commerce, to Houston, and home.

Welcome to Texas!
Meeting Aunt Shari in Dallas!
She's already getting big for me!

Not for Ty! This is one of my favorite pictures, taken on the bay in Houston. It almost made the Christmas card.

Family photo, Thanksgiving weekend
And the goofy birthday girl today, after successfully destroying her birthday toy prior to 7:30AM...

"Who, me?"

  1. Her silky ears, her crooked grin, her powerful jaws and legs . . . it feels like she has always been with us! I KNEW she would destroy that toy the minute you sent me the photo. I bet she loved doing it!

  2. Ohmygoodness..... these photos are fabulous! She is so full of Joy! I must agree with your two choices for "almost made the Christmas card" - the one en route to Tali Rose's dinner... still giggling! Love her Halloween photo, too. She's quite a character! The second puppy photo totally melted my heart!!! {A special tidbit for me - Brooklyn and I are Birthday sisters!!!! I'm quite a bit older, though.... :-D } XXOO
