Last night, just before dinner, our doorbell rang.
I remained in the kitchen while my dad attended to the door. Following the sound of the door cracking, I heard a familiar little voice.
"Um, um, I just needed to come see Miss Jessie for a little bit."
I quit the kitchen and found little Maggie-moo standing in our foyer, twisting her hair, and shuffling her feet. She had come alone apparently. A quick glance out the front window found her mom chatting with a neighbor and Emma, her sister, restraining their labrador.
So I spent a few moments catching up with Maggie. I picked her up and asked her how much bigger she was, but I could clearly tell by her height and weight that she is growing up too fast! She told me her summer plans (she's quite excited about the beach, I think, for she told me multiple times!) and she asked about my dogs. Soon we joined her family outside, and after a brief discourse, they were off on their evening walk.
I rejoined my family for dinner, already quite full.
Beginning in June, I'm going to spend some weekly time with them, just like I did last summer. I can't wait!
I love this :-)
